Brick Books
Brick Books is a small literary press based in London, Ontario. The press was started by Stan Dragland and Don McKay in 1975 and began by publishing chapbooks. We have now gravitated towards the publication of full-length volumes of an individual author’s work.
The mandate of Brick Books is to foster interesting, ambitious, and compelling work by Canadian poets, both new and established; to create and maintain the exceptional editorial standard for which Brick has gained a national reputation; to produce beautifully designed, attractive books worthy of the excellence of their contents; and to distribute and promote these books and their authors. We publish 7 new books and 3-14 reprints every year.
Though our general manager, Kitty, is based in London, Ontario, Brick Books is truly a national press. Our production is based in Toronto. Our webpage has been constructed (and continues to be tweaked) in Vancouver. And our editors can be found (literally) from coast to coast (St. John’s, Newfoundland to Victoria, BC!). The poets we publish are similarly distributed, right across Canada.
