Appetite by Mia Anderson

Mia Anderson’s Appetite is a remarkable book. I thoroughly enjoyed it. It suggests to me a synthesis of the post-modern with the new generation of poets. It is written in open form, but there is no attention-getting experimentation…. ‘Northern Light’ succeeds in doing something that no poet except bissett had done well for a generation: create a sense of wonder. ‘Advent’ is a remarkable poem characterized by wit, energy, and a superb command of rhythm and line break. ‘Animal Crackers’ goes beyond wit to vision.
