Students and Educators

Resources for Enhanced Learning Experiences

Since 1975 Brick Books has been publishing new and established voices in Canadian poetry. Fostering interesting work by Canadian poets and translators of poetry, Brick Books produces beautifully designed, attractive books worthy of the excellence of their contents, and distributes and promotes its authors and their books around the globe.

This section was created for students and educators, to showcase all the information about our authors in one place. Including author biographies, books published, reviews, interviews, audio recordings and more, we hope that this material can enhance learning experiences and both personal and professional development.

We’re excited to have worked with many of our authors in creating new material; they provided insight into such things as their writing process, experience as poets, reflections on poems among other things. We’ve included all of these questions and answers on individual author pages.

We hope that you will find this material useful for your studies of Canadian poetry by living poets. Click on a poet’s name below and discover some familiar names and some new names…

Another great resource is our Celebration of Canadian poetry. During 2015 and 2016 we have been posting articles about a Canadian poet or a specific poem or a meeting with a Canadian poet. Our presenters are poets, novelists, teachers, publishers, booksellers, musicians, readers, doctors, media folk, artists…
